What an Indian Customer Expects From A Travel Agent
Travel agents have become the reliable mantras for hopping on to your favorite holiday destination with ease and economy. An Indian customer expects a lot from his tour packages operator or travel agent and, on most occasions, he is not disappointed.
Here is a brief synopsis of how high expectations are met with great services:
Plenty of choices: Indians are not big-time backpackers (though the scenario is changing for the better these days), but they do love to get pampered with choices. Hence, they expect the travel agency to offer them a huge heap of destinations and multiple offers & deals. And more often than not, they comply!
Money matters: Indian customers are pretty frugal by nature and like to bargain hard from everybody, be it a vegetable-seller or an international holiday planner! They expect that the agency help them choose the most economic deals, so that they end up spending less money than they would have done had they chosen not to seek the help of the agent. The professional agents keep track of all the good hotels and airways, and thus readily offer economic services at the drop of a hat.
Time is money: For those busy professionals who believe in ‘time is money’ theory, these agents help them save oodles of hours, by doing all the boring things (like flight booking, hotel booking, chalking out the entire sightseeing plan, getting information about the present local weather, etc)
Document preparation: Whenever you go for an international destination, you will be required to get your visas made. It is a hassling and time-consuming process and something which is as headache-giving as some of those Indian telly soaps. So, this is another service for which the customer relies on top-notch agents.
Advice on location or destination: Sometimes, a person may wake up after years of drudgery and feel like going to the hills or to the beach. Since, the country has scores of hill stations and beachside locales, he may not be familiar with the ones best suited for the time. On such matters, he can always ask the travel agent to give him suggestion. And once again, it must be admitted that a genuine & honest agent offers the best advice.
Custom holiday planning: More than anything, Indians expect their agents to arrange a holiday tailored for their custom needs. Therefore, taking into consideration an individual’s budget, preferences, duration of journey, etc, the company chalks out a perfect trip.
Insurance and travel tips: Indian men can be lethargic when it comes to surfing the net. So, they rely on their travel agents to fill them up with all the essential traveling tips for a specific destination. Furthermore, the agent is also expected to offer them traveling insurance, and he does live up to the demands wonderfully.
Get me out of the trouble, please: If you get yourself embroiled in some trouble at your holiday destination and need some expert help, then it is the travel agent who will be your friend, philosopher and guide. Since, they are easily accessible and very caring for their customers, they can give you the right advice to get out of the tricky spot.
